APPROVED IPC-610 CERTIFICATION CENTER

We are very proud to be affiliated with the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC) as an Approved IPC-610 Certification Center.  Our decision to pursue this licensed agreement is representative of our commitment to serving the electronics industry.  Our trainers are IPC certified.  Master or Class "A" instructors will walk you through each segment of the IPC training program.  We offer two training options: (1) our Dallas TX Training facility,  or (2) we’ll send our trainer to your location. Just give us a call at 972-866-8887 and ask for our IPC Specialist.

IPC-A-610 CLASS "A" INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION

The IPC-610 standard is the most widely recognized and accepted standard ever published by the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC) for the PWB assembly industry. After your employees are certified to this specification, they will be certified to teach and certify individuals in the IPC-610 standard. This training program provides comprehensive accept/non-conforming criteria for all three classes of assembly production.

How the Certification Program Works

Class "A" Instructor candidates are referred by their employers to complete four days of training in the IPC-610 standard at Verion's Staffing certification center. After completion of this course and upon passing the written exams, Class "A" Instructors are qualified to train and certify workers in a two-day IPC-610 Worker Proficiency training program on the IPC standards.

Who Should Enroll in Class "A" Instructor Training?

Anyone who is responsible for product quality and reliability would benefit from becoming a Class "A" Instructor. Trainers, QA, QC, engineering, supervisors or managers versed in electronic assembly make excellent candidates. Strengthen your company’s quality initiatives…certify several people.

Class "A" Course Outline

  • Define the purpose, interpretation and use of IPC-610
  • Recognize proper handling and ESD requirements
  • Identify acceptable mechanical assembly requirements
  • Recognize the requirements for component installation
  • Identify the requirements for soldering assemblies
  • Cleanliness requirements
  • Marking requirements
  • Laminate conditions requirements
  • Discrete wiring assembly requirements
  • Surface mount assembly requirements

Class "A" Instructor Benefits

After completing the Class "A" Instructor training, you will be certified through IPC and authorized to provide high quality, effective training and certification to individual workers at your facility. You can then certify workers to the Worker Proficiency level. Each Class "A" Instructor graduate receives:

  • An instructor manual providing complete directions for Worker Proficiency training, testing and certification
  • Over 600 Power Point slides illustrating every aspect of the IPC-610 series document and training information
  • The IPC-610, "The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies"
  • Class A Instructor/Student Handbook
  • The Worker Proficiency test handbook
  • IPC-610 Class "A" Instructor Certificate
  • IPC-T-50 Terms and Definitions

Class "A" Instructor’s Goals

  • Train, test and certify workers
  • Use IPC approved materials
  • Improve workmanship skills
  • Implement the IPC approved program per IPC requirements
  • Train and test workers on applicable class or all 3 classes of production for a given topic or technology
  • Recertify every 2 years

RECERTIFICATION

Certifications are valid for 2 years. Since Verion Staffing is ISO 9001:2000 registered, we understand the importance of recertifying employees. Whether we originally certified your employees or not, it doesn’t matter, you can renew your certification with Verion Staffing!

IPC-A-610 WORKER PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATION

This course is designed to help electronic manufacturers achieve the highest quality, highest productivity, and most cost-effective production by ensuring their workers can correctly apply the acceptability criteria of IPC-610.

The education and training goal of this program is to improve individual "discrimination" skills, i.e., to improve accuracy of discrimination between an "acceptable" or "non-conforming" electronic assembly per the IPC-610 series. This program will also teach individuals the reasons for the accept/reject criteria to enhance their motivation and ability to consistently and correctly apply the discrimination criteria.

Throughout this two-day course, employees will be trained to correctly apply the accept/non-conforming criteria for the applicable class of production: (Class 1) Consumer Products; (Class 2) General Industrial; (Class 3) High Reliability.

Master Instructors of the IPC-610 program will guide you through each step of the training program, allowing dedicated time for individual questions. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to identify the purpose and requirements of the IPC-610 training program and your role and responsibility in fulfilling the program. After successfully completing each section of training and passing the open and closed book examinations, you will receive:

  • IPC-610 Worker Proficiency Certificate
  • IPC-610 Worker Proficiency Handbook

Verion Staffing will issue your certificate, maintain all documentation and notify you when your certification expires. Records are available at your request to assist you in your ISO 9000 or other quality initiatives. The Worker Proficiency certificates carry a retraining date of 2 years after the end of the original training.
